Tired of procrastinating and falling off track?

Published 5 months ago • 2 min read

I hadn’t spoken on my Instagram story in what feels like months. Since the last time, the thought of it pulled into the space behind my sternum. It made me dizzy.

So I put it off like my taxes, and it's April 15th.

Each time I thought about it, I watched the moment pass like a bystander to my own inaction. Each time, I gave more power to the pull inside me. To that sinking feeling tying me down.

Procrastination. Inaction. Guilt.
Procrastination. Inaction. Guilt.
Procrastination. Inaction. Guilt.

It just kept going.

But last night, after a long day and another unfinished to do list, it crossed my mind again. This time, fueled by the energy of the New Year, fueled by my desire to do better than I have before, it lit a fire beneath me.

Wrapped in my covers, in my tie dye sleep shirt, with no makeup on, I picked up my phone and did it.

I showed my face and talked to the camera and shared about the power of imperfect consistency. About how taking small, imperfect, consistent action, is how you get to where you’re going.

I was a perfect example.

After taking one tiny and easier-than-I-thought step forward, I felt relieved, energized, and proud. With sleepy eyes and my head held high, I took the step, did the thing, and pushed those nagging voices and lingering feelings to the side.

Action. Confidence. Motivation.
Action. Confidence. Motivation.
Action. Confidence. Motivation.

This is the cycle for me.

your daily pick me up

Yesterday I made an Instagram reel about 6 habits that will help you finally feel proud, accomplished and motivated in 2024. Pick one habit and put it into practice today!

Take one small step forward, and show up imperfectly.

Repeat after me...

I give myself grace and compassion through busy, stressful, difficult times, and I show up imperfectly anyway. I value consistency and I will show up day after day.

Say this affirmation out loud in the mirror 10 times every day. Write it in your journal over and over. Visualize it before bed. Feel it. Believe it.

What I’m loving

Idk about you but I'm such a sucker for cereal, even as a 29 year old. There's just something so comforting about a bowl of sweet, crunchy, milky goodness. Three Wishes is my absolute faveeeeee grain-free, higher-protein, lower-sugar cereal that satisfies my cravings, while packing more of a punch on the nutrition side of things. No this isn't sponsored (I wish) - I just really, really, really love this cereal, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a better alternative to your sugary fave.

Keep on going, Reader. I'll catch you next week!
